Why Truly 20s disappeared (and why it's back)
How an amazing follower brought me back online and how we're celebrating with a new event THIS Friday.
This newsletter has been brewing in the background for over six months — but it finally took an encounter with a lovely stranger at Glastonbury to push me over the edge.
Let’s rewind a bit.
I’ve completely fallen off Truly Twenties content lately. A mix of feeling overwhelmed by social media, struggling to trust myself to be consistent, and, if I’m honest, enjoying a new found sense of balance. There were times I thought Truly Twenties might never come back online.
Then Glastonbury happened.
While sitting at our campsite getting ready to see Charli XCX, a couple of girls walked through. I looked up and said to one of them, “I love your jacket.” She turned around, bent down slightly, to speak to me in my camp chair and said:
“I love Truly Twenties.”
Cue: all of my friends staring at each other in stunned silence, mouths open. Out of all of Glastonbury, this lovely stranger knew my little corner of the internet?
The Derbyshire in me kicked in. I replied, in complete shock:
“Shut the f*ck up.” (Which, if you know me, was said with love and disbelief.)
This moment meant the world — not just because someone recognised Truly Twenties, but because it reminded me what this has always been about: connection. I’ve heard stories of people meeting through this project, becoming friends, giving each other advice online, showing up for each other — and when you’re not seeing it every day, it’s easy to forget how powerful that really is.
So, thank you, lovely Glastonbury stranger. You showed me, in person, why I started this. Connection. Whether I can see it or not, it’s happening.
Which brings me to now. Introducing, The Panic Years newsletter. A space I can show up in creatively — even when I’m not at 100%. A newsletter for all of us figuring things out (and sometimes panicking while doing it).
We’re back, baby. So. Back.
And we’re back with something fun and low-pressure — a dance class in collaboration with Vibe Tribe, inspired by that childhood feeling of doing things just because. Performing in front of the mirror, pretending we were pop stars playing sold-out stadiums.
What to expect:
A carefree dance class
Nostalgic energy (‘Touch’ by Little Mix dance routine)
No expectations, just movement
A glass of prosecco because… why not?
📍 Friday 18th July
📍 Kennington, London
📍 6:30–8pm
🎟 £15 – less than a London cocktail
So excited to see this new venture for you ❤️ as I end my twenties in 2 weeks (turning the big 3.0. on the 4th) I still feel like I identify with a lot of the items you’ve posted in the past. So, I can’t wait to see what else carries over into my new decade!
